About the Course

This is the course blog for EXGEN 3799 at the University of Alberta.

If you are interested in creating effective content for blogs, Facebook, Twitter and other social media, then this course is for you. Learn how to use various social network sites (SNS) and how to optimize your writing and profile on each SNS. Terms covered will include: keywords; linking; blog posts; Facebook; Twitter; Tweetable headlines; SEO; folksonomy; tagging. This course will be helpful if: you are working within communications and would like to learn more about writing for the web; you are a small business owner interested in putting your business on the social media map; you want to buff up your writing skills and participate in a connected and collaborative online environment.
